Sears and Portfolio Recovery are both reporting duplicate entries on 2 of my credit reports. I recently sent dispute letters to the CRA's, sears, and P.R. Was this proper? Also, any advice for getting his account removed from my report? it was opened in 1990, charge-off in 2000. amount 2300.00. should I send validation? thx
Are the accounts numbers exactly the same? Generally I would have dealt with the original lender or CA first. You can always dispute with the CRA's later. A validation letter to the CA would probably be a good idea. Good luck.
