I am a firm believer that less is more, so what do you guys think one HAS to have in their validation demand letter. I say it is just... I received your letter dated XXXX concerning account XXXXX and that I owe this alleged debt. I am demanding validation of this alleged debt which is my right and is being sent within the 30 day time line. ALso it is inconvenient to call me at any time and all communication is to be done USPS. Am I missing anything that should definitely be in the letter or is this fine...short and sweet? I think it is fine, just wanted to get your thoughts on this. Woofer
I usually advise ask to prove the debt is yours and how they arrived at the balance (interest, fees, etc).
Isn't demanding validation the same as proving they now own this debt? I don't ask for the *how they arrived at this balance* as I feel it seems like I may owe this debt , albeit a lessor amount. Thanks Hedwig for your insight. Woofer
