Easy to get Amex exp if you apply

I did the "BDD" with CITIBANK...they both had fees...so it might be true with the DELTA card too...

The only other AMEX card I applied for was the "PRE-APPROVED" AMEX PLATINUM CASH BACK card and was DENIED...

 

very much true. I got amex delta skymiles with 16 inquiries and 650 equifax score.

I converted to platinum for better terms.

Me too...I did the same and had a 650 score and high inquiries (not sure how many).

The Platinum card we are talking about is the Optima Platinum.

OK HERE GOES AGAIN...

I was denied I don't know how may times for CITIBANK PLATINUM SELECT...(by mail, on-line, by phone...even so-called "PRE-APPROVED" ones).

I applied for the AASILVER approved $5,000 instantly...10 min. later AAGOLD approved $5,000 instantly...one inquiry...two cards...

WEEKS LATER, when I got the cards, AASILVER + AAGOLD = PLATINUM SELECT $10,000

Traded the 2 for 1...

I COULDN'T GET IN THE FRONT DOOR...SO I WENT IN THE BACK DOOR!!!

Apply for the Starwood card. it is easy!. Do not Expect more than 2.5K limit.

Usually from Equifax. But sometimes Exp.

give it a shot. you'll never know. I got instant online gratification with $2K limit.


Then switch to:
The Optima platinum is a nice card, great intro rate, etc, no annual fee, prime+4%

If you get the card, don't forget to call New Accounts during the first 30 days, to request that they re-evaluate your credit line. This would get you no inquiry and possibly result in an increase.

(Chances for an increase are smaller if you got the card after reconsideration).

I just applied online and got a message that they are having "System issues" and would evaluate my application and respond within a few weeks.

I might guess this is a decline???

EQ appox 600.

For those that applied for the Starwood Guest card:

If your credit limit was less than $5,000, did you receive the Platinum product or something less? I'm curious.

I think there's only one Starwood card: the Starwood Platinum card. The limit can vary from 2,000 up to 100,000.
