What's been the most effective method for disputing inquiries? Are you using the CreditNet letters? Are you disputing several or one at a time? Are you disputing newer inquiries first? Please share your experience.

I have a few on my Equifax report that I want to remove. Thanks.

I haven't tried with EQ, and from what I've heard - except for a lawsuit, nothing works.

Now on Ex I've disputed them on-line, and so far I'm 3 for 3.

Just disputed 2 today online with TU. I've heard they're easy.

** Caution - I wouldn't dispute an inquiry that resulted in the opening of an account that you now use. Course, that's just my opinion **

Why would you not dispute an inquiry that resulted in an account? I am really starting to doubt that the CB's do anything to validate inquiries. It seems to me that they either delete them at will or they have a policy against disputing them at all. What do you think the downside could be? Just curious...

I've disputed a few inquiries with CE - all but one were deleted

Lisa - I didn't dispute inquiries which i had an open trade line for because I wouldn't want the creditor thinking that the account may have been opened fraudulently

Good point, Kelly. I had not thought of that.

Would that work for a collection inquiry (not just a reg. permissible purpose inq)?

You didn't have to apply for a loan or c.c. with them(the CA) for them (the CA) to pull a hard inq., at least according to the CRA's.

Experian has deleted every inq I've asked for deletion on, however I do have one collection inq (approx 12 months old) that I'd rather not have on my report.

Collection inquiry, or regular inquiry, you have NOTHING to lose by disputing it.
