I discovered that Equifax has locked me out of receiving my credit report online. I entered my verifying information and credit card number and a screen pops up that says report is unavailable, yet my credit card is still charged. I called customer care and was told it must be some sort of a technical glich that the technical support department would have to handle. After waiting several days and hearing nothing from Equifax, I tried to pull again... low and behold I am still locked out, credit card charged. Another call to customer care and I get the same story. Can't even make it to a supervisor. When I asked what department I make a formal complaint to, the customer care person gave me the telephone number and address of the Federal Trade Commission! Christ! If I ran a company this way I would not have one. Needless to say, if you are that stupid to give me the information, I am certainly going to make a complaint, which I have. Apparently once you file a lawsuit against the credit bureau and they get served, your credit file is locked out and you and no one else cannot have access. I've called consumer affairs multiple times. I do not have the time to be placed on hold for 45 minutes, waiting for someone to decide if they want to pick up the call. I guess it will all fall out in a few weeks in court. Unruly
You sound as mad as I was...Check my post: http://consumers.creditnet.com/stra...ad.php?s=&goto=newpost&threadid=44246&pgnum=1 I will let you know the outcome of my situation after early next week and will refer to you the person I am going to speak with if my results are positive. Good luck! HACK
Thanks, that would be great. Since no one including myself can access my report, I am wondering if updates from creditors that report every month will show up once this mess is straightened out?
If they are failing to furnish your report to you or others you have authorized, amend your suit to add those FCRA charges as well. I wouldn't stand for such crap! Tac
unruly, I have the same situation. FIled a suit against eq for multiple violations and they locked me out. They kept telling me, that it's a technical problem. I finally gave them a deadline. I received acall from equifax, saying,t that they have my report locked, because of the lawsuit, but that i could still get hard copies. Well, i then filed another lawsuit against them, because my mortgage company can't receive the report, either. I also tried on 2-20 to get a normal hard copy of my report and received aletter from their attorney instead, telling me to cease and desist any contact with equifax and only to communicate with the attorney. Of course, i didn't get a report. That will certainly prove my case. It just so happens, that there was an ammendment on the 1st suit and now the 2nd suit is being heard first. I wonder, if equifax's lawyer will bring up the 1st suit to exlain, why they won't give me a report . On one hand, that would show me as being maybe 'sue happy', but on the other hand, that would being all of their other violations into the courtroom. Hm...we'll see
