Recently, we disputed a TL on DH's EQ report. Unfortunately, we are forced to deal with CSC. First of all, they took more than 60 days to verify, but still did not delete. When they got their next letter, they came back to us with "verfied". We sent a letter requesting how they verified. Neither TU nor EX was able to verify. This account has also been re-aged. It passed the 7 year reporting mark as of February of this year. Their response was that they "electronically verified" this information. Basically, they are saying that they are going by what is sent on the tapes. They didn't contact anyone. How do we handle this? We sent a validation to the CA, and haven't heard a word. It has been 30 days, so we sent the Estoppel letter to the CA. Our next step will be to ask for re-investigation based on the fact that the CA can't validate, but this "electronic verification" worries me. It seems that we've hit a brick wall. Has anyone else dealt with this successfully?
csc did this to hubby...kept verifying info we sent them cancellation letters for. Hubby called, spoke with rep...asked for legal dept. Legal resolved it within hours. You have t leave your name & number and legal will call you back. Only took them 5 minutes to call hubby back. Explain to them the length of time it took, the proceudre, the fact that this info in not verifiable, etc. Legal dept pulled his file and said "hmm...I dont know HOW it keeps getting verified". They fired the guy that verified. Anyhow, just call them. Its up to you on whether or not you want to talk to the rep or just leave your number for legal. a) "Thank you, csc rep, but you are not high enough up on the food chain to be able to help me...may I speak with your legal dept" b) explain, nicely, that your situation. (I did this to try to get them to back themselves in a corner if they start to lie...THEN i ask for legal Whichever way, try this. Then go for the throat if this doesnt work.
Thank you very much. Hubby did talk to the stupid rep, but she knew nothing. Unfortunately, hubby doesn't know much either. I have done all the research and written all the letters. I basically have to tell him what to say, and even then he gets flustered. I guess I should write him a script. I wish I could talk to them. Anyhow, we will fire off another letter and then talk to legal dept. if needed.
LMAO...I know the feeling! What you can do is when you call, have him stand right there and let him talk to the rep/legal dept just long enough to give them permission to speak with you. Then snatch the phone form him and go to town, lol. Since you are married, if they have his consent, they can talk to you.
Cool! Didn't think of that. I wish hubby was the one to handle this. Sometimes I think people just take men more seriously. It sucks, but it's true. Although, it has come in handy as well, to have him play the poor, but ignorant victim. Sometimes they are more willing to listen and help the people who just don't know too much. LOL! Well, whatever works, right? CSC has been our worst nightmare in cleaning up hubby's credit. This is our last derogatory item, though. And then we can refinance. Yipeeee!
I call about DH's reports all the time. None of the big 3 have ever asked to speak to him. It takes a simple reminder "You know the wives have to do everything"! It works for guy or girl CSRS.
The last one is always the hardest... It was funny, because hubby actually took care of this. I explained what to say. Then he called and tried to get them to explain what happened and why it wasnt deleted. Picture this guy with a real booming deep voice trying to convinve them they messed up. Then I hear him say "Somebody needs to grow some nuts and take care of this NOW". I guess this made the rep laugh and asked him if he was from TX (csc is here in TX). She said her hubby says that all the time. Anyhow, she had legal call him back and boom, it was taken care of. Apparently, they had an employee that was "verifiying" things at his own discretion. I am sure this happens more often than not. Like I said, the last one is always the hardest to get removed.
