I have an email from someone at Sherman that I contacted asking me to fax my SS# and Account # that I am disputing. I have my doubts about sending my SS#. They don't need this do they? I'm wondering if I fax them my validation letter that I previously sent, and then they turn and run a credit check, should I go for the throat? Thanks,
My experience with Sherman Acquisition is they keep all files by SSN and they can't look up anything without it. You can always dispute youyr authorization of their use of your SSN in any other way with the CB.
It sounds like they can't verify without your help to me, but I'm a newbie. Emails can be intercepted too. Homer
Going throught he same thing w/transouth. they wont even attempt to help unless I give them my ssn. I DID give them my acct number and name. I felt that should be enough. I called equifax to ask what info they give the OC's upon dispute abd they replied" pretty much everyting" .To me it looks like they get the ssn one way or another/ Here is an actual email I got after denying them my ssn. Again, we understand your position regarding releasing personal information, however we must have a social security number to verify an account. You are welcome to contact the credit bureaus, who will also require a social security number be given. Sincerely, TranSouth and Arcadia Financial Dispute Resolution Center 2208 Highway 121, Suite 100
