when applying for a credit cards either on-line or mailing the application through the mail, do you all know if the creditor actually verifies your employment information? meaning, do they actually call to verify employment or do they just use your employment information to update your credit report? I've often wondered about this question and procedure

I HAVE YET TO HAVE ANYBODY CALL...EVER...(that I know of)

But due to SECURITY REASONS...they would say I worked for the company...and that is all.

    LOL George.

Long time ago my DH listed his military HQ number as work number. The cc company, don't remember which one, did actually call. The gal who answered the phone heard a request for verification of employment and asked them "You are calling a government agency asking for someone to verify that a guy with this SNN works for us? Have you lost your mind?".

He did get the card after all.
