Quick question: What is the best way to fight a "permissible purpose-employment" inquiry? I am considering signing on with my current employer's big competitor. Last week I visited with their HR dept, and came home to a big, fat TU inquiry from them termed, "Permissible Purpose-Employment." While I understand they wanted a peek at my credit, I'd rather not have the inquiry dragging down my score, especially if I don't end up taking the job. Should I fight it with, "I never applied for a job with XYZ."? Anyone had any similar experience with TU? Thanks in advance--
I have three over the past 18 months. I have no idea how they affect my score. I have not tried to dispute inquiries of any sort yet. KK
We have no way to know if EMPLOYMENT-INQUIRY hurts...haven't seen any statements that it does or doesn't...and F.I.C.O. won't say... JUST MY OPINION it may be scored as if it was a "SOFT"...
