    725=TOY???

    I would tell them what they can do with it!!!

    ...Or you could "MAX IT OUT" and pay it off like 10 times in one month!!! (ON-LINE PAY).

    They MIGHT get the hint???

    At least it wasn't a hard inquiry. They pulled EQ and EX, not sure if the EX inquiry was a hard or not.

    Send it back and follow Georges advice. Tell them to make sure your credit report say closed by consumer. Be aware that you may need to activate first, which may involve fees. But I'd go ahead and do it.

    That will act as a warning to the next moron who wants to try this.

    Going to call and ask for limit increase, if they don't want to offer it, I just won't activate the freaking thing.

    i've had a toy card w/ a $500 limit since 1995. I have about $350 on it and when i took my daughter to college i thought i might have to get her a TV so i called for an increase - i only wanted $100 or so, just in case. I was turned down... not a surprise considering my credit situtation.

    The shocker was the denial letter - the first reason given was "account lacks sufficient payment history". We've had the card 7 years, we've only carried a balance since last fall, before that it was used occassionally and paid off regularly. What in the heck do they consider sufficient payment history?

    The other two reasons were high debt ratio and serious delinquency, which probably woulda got me turned down even with sufficent payment history.

    i didn't call to ask about sufficent payment history notation since we didn't need to buy a TV... i found out later there was not a target near the college, so I really didn't need the increase anyway.

    Is that 90% LOWER THAN YOUR LOWEST LIMIT???

    If YES...send it back!!!

    "My lowest limit is $5,000 so this card that is 90% LOWER THAN MY LOWEST CREDIT LIMIT...can't be my card...so send me the correct card"

    Gib - unfortunately it is a hard.
    I applied a few months ago with a 700 plus score and was offered a similar toy card limit - $700 with 18.9% apr - called them up to ask them to reconsider - they said they couldn't - it was a computer decision - so told them i didn't want it - they closed it on the spot.
    Two weeks later with a SLIGHTLY LOWER score i got a cc with 12k limit.
    Go figure
