One of my old accts disappeared from EQ. I have no idea why. I didn't dispute anything. It's an old AMEX, never late, closed by me 5-6 years or so ago. But my score went UP. Only other difference is some very small paydowns. Should I try to get the acct put back on? Is that even possible? I've got a lot of really old tradelines, so I'm not sure if I need it or not. Advice please?

    Wkn,

Unless, you want it back on Equifax for account history I wouldn't worry about. I had an account with MBNA 4.5 years ago and for some reason Experian no longer reports it. I have 18 other accounts reporting so I didn't feel the need to contact them to dispute about the missing account.

Positive closed accounts should last 10 years from the date of closing and they bring up your average age off accounts. I would call Amex and ask them to re-report it. It's worth a phone call. 1-800-327-2177. Mention the account number.
