EQ BK deletion worth 10 points

The other day, I reported a credit repair success. My "Chap 7 BK public record" was deleted by Equifax. This left me with a report consisting of 30 open / closed accounts in good standing along with 2 negative BK discharged credit card accounts from 1998.

Yesterday, I requested an EQ Scorepower report for $12.95.

My new score - 690 - this means my credit is better than 36% of the public and worse than 64%.

My last prior Scorepower credit score was done some months ago.

The score then was 680 meaning that my score was better than 33% of the public and worse than 67%.

Therefore deletion of the public record appears to have been worth 10 points.

The interesting thing to me is this...

My EQ report is now identical to my TU report. As you know EQ and TU grade on a different scoring range. But my TU score that has been provided to me several times over the last 6 months has ranged between 809 and 828. This TU number (828) is much more pleasant to look at than the EQ number (690).

I plan to request another Scorepower in 2-3 months. Maybe I will make the 700 club by that point. Either way these numbers sure look better than the low 500 scores I saw at the Ford dealer almost 3 years ago when I got my post BK auto loan.

    Best regards,

    Jim

BTW - I wish I could have reported something more optomistic. But these are the real numbers.
