Hi All, I just pulled my EQ report online to discover that EQ changed my address to a PO BOX!!!!! I cannot believe this. How do I change it? Am I going to have to send in copies of bills, etc.? I want to know why in the world they changed my address in the first place. I've NEVER used a PO BOX....and this PO BOX is several states away from me. I even have a membership with EQ Credit watch, and they didn't even send me a notification...which I am paying for. Help! Calmest_LA
One of your credit card companies did it... FLEET changed my address # to a # that does not exist...GOOD THING I NOTICED I NEVER GOT A BILL...I CALLED AND THEY SAID NO PROBLEM...NEXT MONTH...NO PROBLEM...finally put it back where they found it. I was AMAZED that they could change my credit report address with-out proof.
The Address will change any time you apply for something or a creditor sends them a new address. If you didn't apply, someone else may have a similar name and social. Contact them and have it removed. Send them a letter explaining that my address is such and such and if it is changed again that constitutes willful non-compliance of FCRA. Next time you can sue.
