Ok, I'm down to 2 negs (plus a BK) on my EQ report. So last night I decided to dispute them online again(the 2 negs), I received my confirmation number. I wanted to check how much of an increase I received while they are in dispute so I pulled my credit watch report. Hhhmm.....nothing is in dispute......and they both have been updated 6/02. So I score down to inquiries........and............. 6/04/2002 - Update 6/04/2002 - Cons Affrs Well its seems my file is with the consumer affairs department and they have investigated over night??? The thing is......one of the negs is a collection account from 96 that was included in the BK but its showing as an open collection with a balance (no note of the BK) I disputed it as incorrect balance. The other neg I disputed as not mine - its being reported with 3 unknown 30 days, 1 unknown 60 day, 3 unknown 90 days. What do you guys think???
I am going to post a wild theory here. Did you go to the Equifax website directly after coming from CN? I have been reading how websites track your other activity... especially the site you just came from to get to theirs... and a conspiracy theorist might say, if you did that, they summized you were cleaning credit and you got flagged. other than that, have you had any suspicious activity that could have put you in the consumer affairs dept at Equifax? a threat to sue perhaps? as for getting these items off, I'd start the letters directly to the companies putting them on your report... you know the drill... hammer from the other side
Thanks Marie, I did the dispute late last night and honestly can't remember if I was here first. Yes, I've had a few bitter moments w/ them recently regarding some accounts that had been requested by the creditor to be deleted for months but EQ never deleted them-finally very recently removed (after CA contacted them again-post lawsuit-looking at the inquiries it was removed by the cons affairs dept) and some problems with a car loan that was reported incorrectly But the major problem I'm having is with them "verifying" this information over night-literally. And the fact that I don't believe they actually contacted anyone (I don't believe the CA would have verified the account as it was in the BK)
