My EQ credit score (as per PG) is currently 657. I have only three derogs: BofA - late pays in 2000 (currently listed as R1) Cap 1 - one 30-day 11/02 (currently listed as R1) Citibank - Paid Collection in 2001 (currently listed as R5) Now, I know the Cap 1 late isn't hurting my score dramatically, because I just had another 30-day late account (from 2/03) changed to "Never Late" and my score only went up about 9 points. I am assuming that the BofA lates are old enough that, once again, their effect on my score is relatively minimal. This leaves me with the Citibank account. On PrivacyGuard it is listed as an open account (although it is shown as "closed" on EXP and TU) and says in the Payment Status: "At least 120 days or more than four payments past due". Additionally, as the first reason given as to the negative factors affecting my score, it says: "Payment history : Last reported month, you missed a payment (or were derogatory) on 1 account(s). This only includes accounts updated in the past 3 months." I have not been late with any payments in the past 3 months. Is the fact that this account is showing as open and the payment status lists this as past due 120+ days affecting my score more than it should be? (That is, is it showing as a very recent negative, rather than an older paid collection?) The reason given for my lower score really has me scratching my head. Thanks!
