I just sent an email to Equifax about their CreditWatch service failing to notify me of changes to me credit report. The CreditWatch service has NEVER notified me of ANYthing! And I have had several changes to my file since I began the CreditWatch service. The most recent change occurred a couple of days ago. I manually pulled my EQ credit report to see what was happening with my disputes. I noticed right off that someone had changed my address to a PO BOX on my credit report! But the CreditWatch service never sent me a notice of this change to me. CreditWatch is supposed to notify me via email of ANY changes to my file, for the purpose of preventing possible identity theft. Since I currently have two disputes in progress, with nine days remaining before the thrity days are up, I am worried that EQ will now send the results of my dispute to this PO BOX that is NOT my address. I think EQ CreditWatch service should be held liable, because it did not notify me as soon as the address changed on my credit report. Had I been notified, then perhaps I wouldn't be under the gun to get my address corrected before EQ sends the results of my disputes. How should I handle this? EQ advertises that CreditWatch will notify me of any changes to my file. I've had the membership for four months and have NEVER received any notification of any changes to my file, and I've had about 12 changes...deletions, additions, inquiries, and now this erroneous address change. Any opinions out there? Oh, and does anyone think I will get a reply from Equifax anytime soon? I'm wondering whether or not they really address their members concerns via the email form. Thanks! Their service is as bad as they are. I got 7 notifications Friday, so I thought oh boy, something has happened. Well, I went to check and they were all for information in December. The current changes haven't even been noted and I've pulled 3 reports since December. THEY SUCK!!
Did you opt out? For some reason if you select the opt-out with equifax, the notifications stop. I had to call equifax to take out the opt out and everything worked again.
