I disputed a bk 2 weeks ago. Today I get a copy of my CR in the mail with a note that says "dear consumer, the following item is currently not listed on your credit report. Thank you for contacting EQ." The bk is literally listed 2 lines below their blurb that says it is not reporting. This happened to me on another account 3 times in a row recently.

Should I wait until day 31 and call them and say "your 30 days are up, delete it."

Has anyone used or experienced this?

It happens all the time to me with CSC.

I'd call them tomorrow and tell them "you sent me an updated report telling me that the bk I disputed is not on my report. But it is on the report you sent me. So will you please delete it and send me a new updated report reflecting this as your letter indicates."

LKH, I have done that very thing in the past. They will tell you that they show no record of the report I am referencing (ie the one that says "that item is not reporting currently). I think that the system for beginning disputes may be somewhat manual and somewhat automated. If the dispute, as it is entered, and the report don't match, the system kicks out this letter. I have about 20 total of these from the last 13 months.

Like I said, I have one inquiry that we have done this now 4 times over two months (I just opened another one this morning). The way I have addressed the inquiry is to make a copy of the report they send to me circling the disputed item and circling the blurb about "the referenced item is not reporting." I attach a letter explaining the situation and send it back to them with the copies of the circled CSC report. Two weeks later I get another copy of my report from CSC saying "that item is not currently reporting." Once again, there it is in black and white on the attached report. We are now in our 4th cycle of "u huh there it is, see?"
