I am really ticked at these yea-hoos.

I just checked my PG score and with a CA account and a judgment deleted, they also deleted an account that was I1.

This caused a 5 pt. lowering of my PG score (creditXpert?)

I am happy to get the other deletions but ya gotta figure someone was sitting there at their little terminal and then you can see the horns popping outta their heads I mean WTF!

    More info:

The CA account was a small one from 2 yrs ago ($98)

The judgement had been paid in 97 (I actually owed this and paid it before the court date) and was for around $1600.

And an old Installment acct that was last reported in 96 but was "paid never late" and it takes 5 pts?

Funny thing the I1 had the same acct number as the derog chg off I was trying to dispute from same Credit Union. I guess this is partly my fault cause I used the 123456XXXX type acct numbers they give you over the internet instead of going back through my file and getting the actual number from a snail mail version of CR.

I guess I got in a hurry and really f*d up. Well live and learn.

    DX

lol! I read that and I had to laugh! When I was in college I paid some student to "fix" my credit even though I had no idea what he was fixing. It seems his mom worked for Eq and she was "fixing" everyone's reports back then.

Well, I went to buy a car with no money down (and no job to pay back the loan) and I was denied because the Eq report didn't match TRW's report (remember TRW?) So Eq compared their records with TRW and BOTH put me in "special handling" status lol. At least that's what I was told by another auto salesman some years later.

I'm happy that's all behind me now. But thanks for the memories :)

Doesn't it just chap your behind that they ding you if they can. I don't get it. People go on and on and on about how having a good score is what it's all about, yet the CRAs make it a bad, bad thing if you fix it.

Perhaps its more of a job security issue???

I'm not sure if you're referring to my case. But I can admit now that I was wrong. I paid someone on the inside to "fix" my credit. Meaning delete derog's and make my record look clean. Obviously if one CRA compares their records with another CRA and nothing matches, someone's in trouble.

My file was placed in "Special Handling" status and that resulted in my being refused credit for years but that is also good because I had no new credit to screw up. So I took my lumps and I have moved on. :)

No, I do understand how when one report doesn't look at all like the other flags might be raised. You didn't know that's how they were going to "fix" it.

I was talking in general. I've had good closed accounts disappear when bad accounts are deleted too. It seems the standard. The only real way to beat it it seems is to keep some of your good accounts open for longer periods of time.
