Right now I am disputing collections on EQ.

I have 11 inquiries I would like deleted (doubt any much less all will).

I have tried going to the creditor and they have been ignoring me.

So at this point, I want to take one of these courses. I do not want moral judgements about inquiry deletion, but experience and thoughts about which is more likely to get results without me being dismissed as frivolous. And should I type or handwrite the letters?

    Option 1.

Send EQ certified letters in three phases:

Phase 1 starting this week: asking for four inquiry deletions. Not a form letter.

Phase 2 (when?): asking for four inquiry deletions.

Phase 3: asking for three inquiry deletions.

Or should I wait until they investigated the collections, and then start Phase 1? How soon should I do 2 and 3? Should I call or write for these?

    Option 2.

Come up with some way to get these creditors who are rude or ignored to delete them. Any ideas?

    Thanks!

OPTION 3... Give up. Equifax does not delete inquiries. PERIOD! You can try as many letters as you want, online, email, telephone, fax and letters to Santa Claus. They will not delete them. They discourage the original creditors from doing it also.

EQF policy is than an inquiry is the record that a file was pulled, approved or not for valid purpose or not. They do not budge on this issue.

Do a search for EQ and inquiries on this board and you will see the numerous other people who have tried.

    Sorry, sucks I know!

I've heard that too and considered option #3. However, I know of at least 1 person here who has had success and hope she/he will tell us what worked.

Sigh. I know, likely a very lost cause. Wish they were like EX in that respect.

I think the BEST results are by phone for IMPOSSIBLE inquires...IF YOU GET A PERSON WITH A BRAIN, AND IS WILLING TO LISTEN TO YOUR REASONS FOR DELETING THE INQUIRES...

Can't you dispute under the FCRA? What I mean is, the FCRA mandates accurate reporting. If inquiries are inaccurate, then under the FCRA, they must investigate and delete if they are in fact inaccurate. If they do not delete, keep sending letters and keep their replies. More paper for your lawsuit. (should you decide to file one)

Equifax/CSC did delete inquiries for me. I don't know if it makes a difference who services your record or not. I wouldn't give up.

I have had an inquiry disputed on Equifax-wrote a letter stating that I did not authorize them pulling my report, nor was I informed that a report was being pulled.

Let me add this though: it appears that your chances of deletion for a creditor that appears on your report is rather slim, meaning if you applied for and got a citibank, for instance, they will probably not delete that inquiry.

And one more thing-just had an inquiry deleted from my report that was 9 months old on Experian-my score rose 4 points.

    Good luck.
