Don't get mad at me, please...

    I'm celebrating!

I was as low as 619 on EQ in the spring. I now have 753 - I just now checked. EX 698 TU 749

Still have one account that is not mine on EX and I can't get that one blasted off w/o a lawsuit.

Ratios were the biggest factor. I added new accounts:

AA Citi 15,000 (finally got EQ to report the CL)
Citi Select 6,400 (now 9,400 but not reported yet)
    Juniper 17,500

I've also paid off a substantial amount of debt and and some 30day lates were deleted.

It's nice to know that all the bickering I've done with this CRA has paid off. Most of my problems were genuine errors (accounts not mine) and some duplicate 30day lates along with other housekeeping such as misreporting of balances, credit limits, open vs. closed, etc. I now have one 30day late on this report, everything else is reporting 100% correct.

Now, along with my goal of being creditcard debt free by April I am shooting for 800!

To think, last May I had a creditor try to jack my rates up to 27.99% because of my supposedly "risky" Equifax credit report. They have no idea the favor they did me by making me angry.

CONGRATULATIONS...but can one get 800? I really wonder.
I'm going to try, but I really don't think it will ever happen.

    Hi Breeze,

Thanks so much for the congrats.

Why would anyone get mad? - I said that because awhile back I remembered someone being blasted because they had achieved prime and said so. Someone came down hard on them for even mentioning it when so many others are still struggling. Personally, I think it is always a struggle. Especially in my case where my files keep getting comingled with someone else. Who knows what will pop up tomorrow. I will always have to stay on top of it.

Just to let newbies know, though - you can come a long way in a short period of time. It requires lots of letters and a committment to what you are trying to achieve. Never take "no" as an answer. Don't allow them to tell you they "can't" or that it "remains." Keep those letters going out both to the CRA's AND the original creditors.

As other CreditNetters have said - "Don't give up. EVER!" Keep hammering away and you'll get there.

I had a 775 and it could have been a 784 if I had the time to fool with it a couple more months. Yes I do think 800 is possible but only for those who have several accounts with a lot of age on them. Maybe an average age of ten years or better.

I have a 801 fico, it was 809 until I paid off a $400 balance on my quantum. My number reason on my fico is listed as "no revolving balance". That's right fico took 8 points from me for being debt free. tu 835, ex 790.

Hi Gordon, welcome to the board. Thanks for all the good info.

If I may ask, what cards do you have, that are so good you kept them for that length of time? And why were you looking to change?

With that score, what kind of deal did you get on the Citi AA cards? Did you change your AA Advantage cards to platinum?

How did you go about getting the 30 day lates deleted? Were they reported erroneously or were you late? I'm looking for all the help regarding 30 day lates, so that if one plan fails I can use another.
