I have a Midland Credit Management collection on my Equifax. The original creditor was household/orchard bank credit card. Household fell off with a simple online dispute. I have a pending dispute for Midland but for now it remains. I have 2 question. 1. Under the classification of Type Of Loan, It is listed as a factoring company. What's that and is that significant? 2. I sent a DV to Midland according to the address listed on my Equifax report. It was sent back, "return to sender". I have copied the envelope (both sides), the postal receipt, and the online USPS confirmation record. I sent it to Equifax along with a copy of current credit report showing that I attempted to contact Midland at the address listed. I also reminded them in the letter that they are bound by law to furnish accurate information. Am I doing enough? Is there something else I can add? This account is also listed on my Transunion and Experian but with a different address. I wouldn't doubt that they have the correct address. I haven't bothered to dispute with those 2 because the removal dates are 11/06 and 02/07. Equifax has the removal date as 6/07. Equifax is killing me with these extra extensions of time on my negative accounts.
Was there a phone number listed? While I feel your line about accurate information is really good, if there is a phone number...bam they probably have verified that way. I wouldn't give up though. Your documentation might just be enough to get a deletion. Best of luck. Let us know.
Essentially a factoring company is a business financing company. They finance a loan to the OC, supposedly using your debt as collateral. Do a search for factoring company, and you'll find more about these. Actually, they did it via none of the above. Most verifications happen with the click of a keystroke. The CRA terminal sends a message to the DF terminal, the DF terminal has an untrained ape who types the big flashing Y key... Send a copy of the original validation letter, copy of the envelope front and back, and a copy of the tradeline showing that address. With a cover letter telling *THEM* that they are required to provide complete and accurate information. (Just like you did to EQ.) To the following name, address, and FAX # (optional) CMRRR: Brian L. Frary Midland Credit Management, Inc. 8875 Aero Dr Ste 200 San Diego, CA 92123-2255 Phone: (858) 309-6970 Fax: (858) 309-6977
Happy Update. After submitting the copies of everything I sent to Midland via the incorrect address furnished by Equifax, I struck Gold. Equifax deleted. It was due to come off in 05/07 but it being gone today is even better.
