In May I disputed two inquires to my Equifax report directly with the lenders. Both lenders agreed to request EQ to change the "hard inquiry" to "INQ" as there had been some confusion regarding my applications.

Yesterday, I received an updated EQ report that amazingly enough showed that one of the two inquiries was changed to a "soft inquiry" - 4 months later!! LOL

Since I only have 3 hard inquiries on my EQ report and they are aging fast, I will expend no further effort to delete EQ inquiries. My impression is that I am lucky to have gotten rid of one inquiry with EQ.

In August, I asked EQ to update a credit limit on a department store card. They made the high limit
-0- down from $300 instead of putting in the proper $1800. Stupid but it happens.

I have a $10K Capital One Platinum card showing a high balance of $5K. I would love to update it but EQ is just so incompetent that I am afraid they will make the high balance -0-.

Anyway, maybe I am better off at this point to have more credit than shows on my report. I can always charge on the dept. card to get a higth balance greater than -0- but it will cretainly be less than $1800.

    Best regards

I forgot to add that the two inquiries were disputed via PlanetFeedback to the executive office. Neither dispute involved Capital One - where so many people here have received help from Mr. M or Mr. C.
