Hubby has a DTC-Citibank FSB inquiry on his report. Can anybody tell me what does that mean? In the explanation of codes at the bottom of the report I can't find DTC?

    TIA,

DTC (which is pronounced phonetically in the industry "deetek" because the acronym used to be 'DTEC') is not a hard inquiry. It is an address verification only. There should be no way a DTC inquiry is considered in any FICO score calculation.

As LKH (I believe) posted earlier, a good general rule of thumb for EQ is - if there is an alphabetical code in front of the company name, it is a soft, no codes, its a hard.

That was me, and was what I was told, but I was corrected in the past day or so.
