Hi all. I was having a bit of good luck disputing items with EQ until today. On 1/12, I sent then a PR for 2 items. Today, I received a (stall) letter from them stating that they needed info to verify their info. What's funny about this was that I received an updated report approx 2 weeks ago!!! Should I continue to wait for the 15 + 5 days for the PR request and then request deletion? ncogngro
You may want to call, and simply ask why they need more information when they just sent you a copy of your credit report... This way they can't say you didn't respond, but you're not responding in a way that provides new information; so they can't try the 15 day extension. I called TU when they erroneously sent a "15 day extension letter" when I sent a different dispute from the one that I had called in earlier. They 're-opened' the investigation that they had previously completed and kicked out the letter for the wrong investigation; so they changed the completion dates for the investigations back to the 30 day limit.
Well today, I had called EQ just to inquire about that letter. The CSR verified with me over the phone that all of my information was correct. I didn't request more time, I just stated that the letter didn't make sense. She agreed(suprisingly). So on my calender, they have until 1/30 to send my letter or else
