    Okay,

I did an investigation with Equifax on Oct. 1st regarding a Corporate American Express account that should have never appeared on my credit report. Long story but it was a paid collection so it was really hurting my score.

TransUnion and Experian took it off very quickly after doing their investigation. But Equifax made me wait the whole 30 days. They sent me a report in the mail indicating it was to be deleted but in the report that they sent it was still on there. WTH!! and not only that but since the date of activity changed from 1/99 to 10/01 so it reaged the account making my score drop even lower.

So I called Equifax and they told me they had to resubmit it to their maintenance department to delete and it would take 5 - 7 business days. So I am fuming, I had to wait 30 days for the stupid investigation and then I have to wait 5 - 7 more days. I want to buy a new car using the special finance offers and I don't want to wait till the last minute but I want this off my report before I apply.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get Equifax to remove it right now. Is there a special number I can call. I asked to speak the supervisor but they said the supervisor would not be able to get it done any faster.

    Thanks in advance

Seen this one before... You need to call EQF and tell them the report number and mailing date. Tell them you will send them a copy, ask to fax... they'll tell you 888-345-9399 is the telephone number....

Good luck... Equifax told me on the telephone they do NOT have protection in place to prevent an account from reappearing. It's a FCRA violation, but even if you get it off, they may report it again in the future.
