Monday my Equifax score was 684, Tuesday 696, Wednesday 702 and today - 719! I am so excited! I disputed 2 finance company tradelines that had perfect payment history, but one of the reasons my score wasn't higher was 'too many finance company' tradelines. So I had 4 (all from same company)... disputed 2 just to test the waters and boom! they took off all 4! So I gained 17 points from that! Possibly would have been more but my Discover card updated last night and that's now almost maxed out, compared to being $1500 under the limit last month.

I'm happy but it's sad though that deleting positive trade lines can increase your score. My hubby's EQ is now at 732 - so I think I'm gonna try to get rid of those finance company tradelines on his report too... maybe that'll get him 740-750ish.

There are laws on how things can be reported - but there are no restrictions on how the information can be interpreted.
This is why even positive information is used against you.

It would not matter if every thing in your file was positive you still could have a poor credit report and a low score because they can interpret the info however they please.
The credit laws deal only with the accurate of information.
They do not govern how the information may be perceived by creditors, CRAs or FICO.

My point was that if the finance tradelines were not there, maybe my FICO would be higher. Are we on the same page?

From Monday to Friday, my EQ score has gone up a total of 40 points. Today I'm at 726. This is what has changed this week:

    - My Discover card reported $1,000 more than last
    month
    - My Credit union visa reported $300 less
    - Both car loans reported less (about $350
    between 2 vehicles)
    - 4 finance company tradelines were deleted
    - Oh.. and my capitalone card is 2 years old this
month.... that reported yesterday so I think I got
    7 points out of that.

I don't know how all this is worth 40 points, but I'm certainly not complaining!

    Ozzy.
