Over the weekend I received my most recent copy of EQ cr. I have one joint acct that is "included in bk", coborrower declared, the rest are + TLs. Now, for the bk acct there is no status/rating assigned to it - what does this mean? Does this mean it is not included in calculation of FICO? Does this mean it will not show as a derog (which it does not)? Thanks.
I would suggest that just the fact that it states included in bk, it is looked upon as a negative by prospective creditors. I don't think an acct with no status is included in the FICO. But I do believe creditors will see and they will consider it a negative. If you were on joint acct, and the other borrower declared bk, what happened to the acct? Did you pay it?
Re: Re: EQ not rated status LKH, I am paying it now. It is a car loan and it still has some payments left on it. It's never been behind or anything like that. The funnny thing is - I checked myfico.com over the weekend also and on there the acct is shown as "paid as agreed." So, maybe it was updated after the investigation was completed (or they never investigated). Two equifax reports within days of each other and they are different. I'm still waiting to hear from TU - but EX cleaned it up for me.
Re: Re: EQ not rated status I think tu needs a little reminder that there is a class action suit against them or this same thing. Also remind them they have agreed to settle. Your dispute: filed under bk of another. Your point: there is no way to verify because You have not filed and no paperwork whatsoever has YOUR name on it indicating bk. No public records, no court docs...nothing. Reporting it as so is llibel per se and a few other things. This account is paid as agreed on your part.
Even though it isnt rated, it does affect score. My score went up around 40 points when mine came off for this reason. It was rated the same: no status, inc in bk. Also, even though there is no public record info on there, creditors still DO see it. I was denied credit because of it and the reason was bk. I purposely applied knowing they would use this info to deny. This proved damages and proved my point that even if public info section is blank, creditors still think you filed bk.
Re: Re: EQ not rated status Thanks Nik. This is the only acct left to correct. After that suit was settled - the other two updated this month. Perhaps TU is going to follow. I have a basis to pursue legal action: denied credit based on that erroneous trade line. Sounds like libel to me.
