Ok dear creditneters...I would like to get your opinion about what can I do to those Equifax idiots. I pulled CW report today and suddenly there is address on my file that I don't recognize. They report that address as my current address and my real address as previous. What makes things worse is they just finished investigation and they will send automatically updated hard copy by mail to that address which means someone else will receive my personal credit file. I can't call them until Monday and that makes me crazy. What do you all think ?
Platinum, same thing happened to me. My very first round of dispute somehow cause them to update my address to a very wrong address. With all of the Validations and verification letters I have sent so far it seems that changing my address on EQF was the hardest thing to do. When you call monday they will put a note preventing an updated copy of your credit report to be sent out. They will also most likely request a mail or fax of your Drivers license and recent utilities to change the address... WHATEVER... it has been 2 1/2 months and I have sent 3 faxes and mailed twice and yet NOTHING!!! It was easier to have student loans removed.. GO FIGURE!!
That might be the part of their tactic which prevents us from disputing again...I don't have any negatives...I just wanted all info to be 100% accurate. And what I get after all...the address that I never heard of...
My address gets changed about every few weeks. Generally, it's a creditor that updates and supplies them with a wrong address. I've called each time and they've been good about changing it back immediately. They will tell you to make sure all your creditors have the correct address. In Equifax, I've not had an outright unknown address put on (although that did happen with Experian). Do check to make sure all accounts ARE yours. Chances are though, it is some creditor updating. They report all accounts correctly...I don't see any new account or inquiry...all creditors have my correct address...just stupid Equifax put that bogus address on my file...
