I had disputed an NCO collection account online and it has come back with a payment status of "CHECKED" What does this mean? Anyone?
I had a couple of collection accounts with this status after 30 day investigation. I believe it means the same as verified...they basically verfied that the collection agency was reporting the correct person. It has nothing to do with whether or not the debt is valid. You should now proceed with debt validation to get this off your report. Good luck!
