Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Never mind -- even though it said it wasn't working, it was e-mailing proper info to my e-mail address, so I can get in, after all. Let's hope those nasty buggers aren't charging me $39.95 for every time I tried to register. Whoever originally posted this, thanks for saving me thirty bucks!
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Just be careful on this...There was a CreditWatch $24.95 deal floating around here about 3 months ago...I cancelled my $69.95 trial and tried to sign up under "the deal". I was locked out for a month! I called EVERY day to the "help" line for EQ online...TOTAL idiots...clueless... Finally, after a letter on PFB and escalating to the supervisor's manager's supervisor's manager of online, they fixed it... I lost an entire month of repair. It was not worth the frustration and aggravation. Just my experience, though...
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 I received the exact same message about the "distribution channel" and was directed to go back to my merchant. I clicked on my equifax and was returned to a page where they were offering the Credit Watch for the 39.95, so I ordered it that way. It went through!!!!! Thank you.... hunter?
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Why do people call and demand this and that when there exists such a large probability that they'll ruin it for others who aren't having difficulty? Amazing. Doc
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 I didn't make myself clear: when I said that I would "slug it out with Equifax", what I meant was that I'd insist that they really did close my account as they said they had, since I suspected their failure in this area was the source of my problems, per Saar's helpful post. I had no intention of doing something that would ruin anyone else's chances at this, although I'm not sure it would, anyway. I don't see how this special offer could be going on without EFX's knowledge -- it is, after all, their product that is being discounted, and Microsoft has enough legal problems already without underhandedly trying to undercut another company's pricing on that company's own product. It doesn't make sense. What is EFX going to do to stop this -- refuse to allow people to cancel their accounts with EFX? Finally, to answer your question as to why people do this, it's simply human nature. "Tragedy of the commons", is what the call this sort of behaviour in my discipline. Not sure what they call it in psychology, but it's a universal human behaviour, so I'm sure it's in the literature, somewhere
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Eh, you're right, it is human nature. When I typed that last night (actually in the early a.m.) I was sleepless and p.o.'d, LOL... Our 14 month old daughter STILL doesn't sleep through the night about half the time. Last night was one of those nights. Doc
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 I got it! Thanks! It said hubby was already a member and directed me to his equifax page where it was offered for $39.95 and did go through! Thanks so much!
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Well, if you go to the main Equifax consumer page they are offering it to EVERYONE at $39.95, so I hardly see how calling about it will hurt chances of other creditnetters getting this deal. That the CSR didn't know about it was probably due to Equifax not being diligent with their training, and had nothing to do with some hidden offer.
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Very Happy to see the special. I went to the site and got the special. I think the key is as follows: I once had the 30 day trial and canceled it. Even though you canceled your service you can still access your Equifax page by logging in with your id and password you had previous before you canceled. In other words, click the link special, log in with old id and password, and then order the special. BE SURE TO PRINT OFF THE RECEIPT PAGE. (Now, that works if you were previously a member.) I know this because I missed out on the $24.95 special from DOC by not logging in first and then purchasing. But I got that special this time...............THX Now, for someone that currently has Equifax monitoring---if you cancel your current service and try to get the special it may not go through because it takes time for them to process the cancellation (just my opinion).
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 went to equifax page and no special is showing.. can someone post a link... my page says the 69.95 price
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 https://www.econsumer.equifax.com/webapp/ConsumerProducts/index.jsp Look at the bottom it should say $39.95.
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 It's $69.95 unless you use Hermit5's link. One you use it, a cookie is placed and it will start showing as $39.95 in all pages. Saar
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Ok, I will try clearing my browser and then try. I hope that works. That is a great offer.
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 I just cleared my browser and still got the message that I am already a user. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 There's nothing more to suggest. You cannot reorder it until they cancel your current service. Saar
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 I cancelled my service a month ago. I don't know why the system is telling me this.
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Call, ask them to open a ticket # and to put a note detailing the error message you're getting. Do not mention the special rate. They'll take care of it in a few days. Saar
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 My husband and I had both done the 30 day trial about a month ago (been without it a month). I used the link on Friday and tonight to purchase for us both and it worked. It said I was already member and I clicked "Go to my equifax" on that page. It took me to a page with products and had this offered for $39.95. I purchased it and there you have it! So, thank you very much! And, as of tonight, it appears to still be valid!
Re: Creditwatch $39.95 Valid credit card is required. Your credit card will be pre-authorized for $1.00 for verification purposes. If not 100% satisfied, you may cancel before your trial is up and owe nothing. At the end of the trial your credit card will be charged the annual fee of $39.95. COPY THE PAGE JUST TO BE SAFE...
