I have the creditwatch for $24.95 (Thanks DOC!) and I check the report everyday. I noticed each day for the last 3 days more and more inquiries were being shaved off my report. I got rid of 3 additional inquiries thanks to Equifax updating my file or doing whatever they were doing. The most recent inquiries are only a year old. All the inquiries over a year old are gone. I'm hoping they will just keep on going! Has anyone else had this happen besides the few that have already posted on the matter?
<running back> I take that back, I just went thru my report from 5/7 and todays report, I have a total of 17 hard inquiries gone, all that are over 1 year old. Doesn't the FCRA say that inquiries will only remain for 1 year? Maybe they got sued.....
It's 2 years, but I read on Creditwatch, I think, that they only keep them 1 year. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Charlie
I thought it was 2 years, but one year sounds good to me! I think it really should be one year anyways, 2 years is a really long time to keep inquiries on file.
They have been removing all of my hards once they hit 3 months old. I only have 2 left. Both are Amex from 5/10 and 4/9.
As I posted in another thread, all of my hard inquires on Equifax have dropped off. And all of them were less then six months old!
THE FOLLOWING INQUIRIES ARE NOT REPORTED TO BUSINESSES: PRM - This is a promotional inquiry in which only your name and address were given to a credit grantor so you could be solicited with an offer such as a credit card. (PRM inquiries remain on file for 12 months.) AM or AR - These inquiries indicate a periodic review of your credit history by one of your creditors (AM and AR inquiries remain on file for 12 months.) EQUIFAX, ACIS or UPDATE - These inquiries indicate Equifax's activity in response to your contact with us for either a copy of your credit file or a request for research. PRM, AM, AR, INQ, EQUIFAX, ACIS and UPDATE inquiries do not show on credit files that businesses receive, only on copies provided to you.
