EQ told me that they cannot accept an online dispute, that I would have to call it in. When I called the number they gave me, I was told that EQ does not do phone disputes, I would have to put it in writing. I am waiting for a call from a supervisor now to see whats up. I now have my creditor saying that the collection entry on my report is wrong and never should have been put there. I previously sent that to EQ and somehow they verified that the entry was correct. The CA says the entry was incorrect and that they sent a letter to EQ in early October saying it should be removed. Yet, no action from EQ to remove. I asked them to call the CA to confirm that the collection should be removed. They said no. I have to dispute in writing. Then they will investigate. The CA says EQ has not called them on any of my three previous disputes to EQ. But, EQ keeps verifying. All it takes is one phone call or a simple email or a letter to correct their mistake yet they will do nothing to help. My big problem is that the CA is uncoopetrative. They will not send me anything in writing to verify they sent EQ the info. If I sue EQ, they will calim they never got anything from the CA. If I sue the CA, they will claim they sent it to EQ. The CA refuses to send it again. They said they already sent it. It is EQ's problem. I have had it.
If your credit report is housed at CSC like mine is, then you can't do them online. I just fax mine in to CSC and I have never had any problems. They update the trades on your bureau a few days after receiving the fax request.
Just got off the phone with the supervisor. She is the first decent person I have talked to at EQ. She said that they should have removed the negative from my report when I sent them the letter last summer from the creditor saying it was bogus. She said she will fix it immediately and send me a correction in the mail. What a bunch of incompetent bumbling idiots.
