I'm just starting out on getting reins on my CR's. I applied for an Amex Blue card and was denied. (No surprise there) but then I used that denial to get my report from Equifax. A little while before I found this great site and discussion board yesterday, I saw on my CR that I could dispute items "Online" with Equifax.

"Okay, Cool!" I thought to myself. A few clicks later and I was disputing two items on my report. Judements by a very unethical dentist. (I have a question on that but that's better served on another thread)

Then I read a few of these posts here and now I'm unsure and I think I may have screwed myself in some way. I probably should have used a formal letter with r/r at the USPS and now It would be too late to do that.

My main question here is, Should I use the "online" dispute opportunities when I get my CR from all three "agencies"? Especially Equifax.

I have raised my TU score by 125 points, my EXP by about 60 points, and my EQ by about 60 points all since May. My disputes have been entirely online (> 99%).

Online is great. If you find them doing illegal stuff, paper trail is better. If you end up suing, you need the documentation.
