DW & I had our credit pulled in March to apply for a mortgage. DW's Equifax (Beacon) score was 705, with factors 02 (Level of delinquency on account), 10 (proportion of balances to credit limits too high), 14 (length of time accounts have been established, and 01 (amount owed is too high). We noticed and disputed some erroneous information, and her report now shows only one delinquent account, a 30-day late in November 1998 (down from 3). In addition, we have corrected balance information. When we pulled her Beacon score yesterday, it was 661(!) with codes 13 (Time since delinquency is too recent or unknown), 02 (as above), 14 (as above) and 1 (as above). The one remaining delinquency did not change its reporting date, and the only other changes to her report would be the mortgage inquiries (which were all about the same time). Thus, I can only conclude that the date is being incorrectly fed into the model. Has anyone had any similar experience or has anyone ever attempted to challenge a reported score on similar grounds?
See the thread "Equifax screws me again" I wonder if this is happening to anyone else? Equifax is probably listing your wifes Current Status as R2 - but conveniently for them, you can't see that Current Status field online...(at least I haven't been able to)
Yep, that's it -- good eye, I hadn;t caught that on the snail mail report. Ok, at least now I know what to do. Thanks!!
