As some of you may recall, I've been going around and around with Equifax over a tradeline being listed under Heilig Meyers. They have verified it twice and twice given me addresses for Heilig Meyers that were returned to me marked as undeliverable as addressed. Equifax cannot provide me with an accurate address. I sent in copies of the returned certified envelopes to Equifax and received no response and the account was not marked in dispute. I was able to track down a working phone number for Heilig Meyers corporate offices, but it is answered by a phone system. Each credit option you press tells you that if you have any issues regarding something being reported on your credit report, you must contact the credit reporting agency directly to dispute. Now I know that I will probably have to sue Equifax in order to resolve this, but want to pursue all alternatives prior to doing so. Any input, thoughts, etc appreciated L
Thanks, MartysGirl, but from what I understand, they are out of business. It seems that a few people left at corporate is all there is. I finally managed to track down someone in the legal department who was able to give me the name and address of someone who might be able to help me. Unfortunately, she is on vacation...lol. I went ahead and did a letter so hopefully I'll be able to get this resolved. Thanks! L

I've been having similar problems with Heilig Meyers. There are no accounts placed on my credit report(s), however, a CA who apparently took over HM accounts is attempting to bilk me for money for something I never had. I've sent valdation, no response except for another bill, sent estoppel telling them they've already racked enough several violations and they need to close this matter otherwise it's them who will be paying me. No response, except for another bill! Not sure what my next step will be.
Whatever, that's the address and phone number I came up with by doing a search of their SEC filings...lol. Thank you for looking for me. Mindcrime...that's the same thing that is happening with me. I don't think I've *ever* even shopped there, let alone financed something with them. They are showing the account opened a month after I moved to NY and there aren't any of their stores in NY I don't believe...I think they are only in the south. At any rate, they are showing the account opened in 96 with a dola in 97. I'm hoping this Vickie lady can shed some light on the subject for me. Thanks! L
