I just received my CHOD results from Equifax in the mail yesterday. Out of four (4) disputed items, I had on deletion (a $20.00 collection account). The remaining three tradelines seem as if they will never come off. Here's the worst of them:

    ABC Company

    Opened: 8/93
    DOL: 12/95
    Balance: $0
    Status: R9
    Previous Status: 07/01 R5

This account was paid in full on 12/2000. How could it then go from R5 to R9 long after being paid?

The other two are chargeoff accounts that have DOLs of 2/98 and 11/98 and balances of $0 and $200, respectively. I need to know how to handle these original creditors. Any advice? Please?

    Andrew-

As far as Equifax is concern, don't get discouraged, keep dipusting it. Dispute it online as well as sending the letters. I had a Providian chargeoff that I diputed I know at least 50 times and finally I received an updated report last week that it had been deleted. So keep disputing it, it will come off.

You have to stick with it, and I would suggest when you dispute, use the "not mine" excuse, not the "paid in full".

Hang in there, it can be done !

I know persistence is the key, but it just seems as if I'm not making any headway. I always dispute online and am now considering sending letters.

    Any luck with calling Equifax?

    Andrew-

I have their Consumer Affairs number that you can call it is local, I live in GA. You only want to call them if you have an issue with something that was supposed to be deleted or anything of that nature. They are not going to listen to you tell any "stories" . Listen I was telling someone lastnight that I believe that the letters work better than the online disputes, and it also helps if there is a combinaiton of both.

Hey, if you like I will send you a copy of the letter that I used and I think it was the straw that broke the camels back....but please don't give up, that's what they want.

Remeber: They don't need your credit, you do !
