I just checked my Equifax report again and realized that in addition to all hard inquiries more than 45 days old being deleted, they have also deleted all soft inquiries incurred by me, that were prior to 5/15/02. The only inquiries left older than 5/15/02 are promotional and acct reviews.
If I were, don't ya think I'd be doing it to my own credit report as well? Sadly, I am one of many who have been left behind to pick up (rather keep) those inquiries for 2 long years...
Yep, same thing here. My three hard inquiries have disappeared and only AR's, PRM, updates, and ID's are all that remain before 5/15/02. I really like EQ's new system.
It would be helpful for all those that have had inquiries deleted lately to let the rest of us know what is the best way for us to try and achieve the same results....online, calling, writing.....which method has worked best?
That's just it, no one can tell us how it's happening. LKH isn't disputing any inquries, they're simply falling off his report after 45 days.
I haven't done anything in re: to getting the inquiries deleted. It is happening automatically. It started after I signed up for Creditwatch.
I really did not do anything either. If I were to guess at what started the inquiries from being deleted, I think it was because I checked my EQ report daily, causing a bunch of soft inquiries. At about 105 or so inquiries, I noticed EQ was dumping my hard inquiries, my guess is to prevent a system lock-up from occuring when I try to access my EQ report because of glitch in their system that can't handle too many inquiries...creating too large of a file folder.
I just noticed that my oldest inquiry (of any type) on my equifax report is from 6/30/01. Looking at a report I have from May 29, 2002, there is inquiries as old as 8/07/2000. I currently have 116 total inquiries, most from checking my report daily. I also just noticed that a retailer's national bank (Target) inquiry from 10/2001 is gone! I'll keep track of this. Based on what you guys are saying and what I'm seeing with my own report, I would have to agree with you - once you get a certain amount of inquiries, it discards an old one for every new.
Remember a little bit ago when people were having problems logging into CreditWatch... it was supposedly because there were too many inquiries. Bet they are running jobs that delete inquiries to stop that behavior from happening and they didnt check the types they were deleting closely enough... Just a theory from a geek. Parul
Very interesting... Ok, QUESTION: How often are you guys (and gals) pulling your Equifax CreditWatch reports? Daily? Weekly? Doc
I check mine daily and look at the report and at the FICO score. That seems to generate 2 soft inquiries, one for the report, one for the score. I just checked it and the bottom inquiry dropped off since I checked it last. If this continues, I'll have no inquiries in another 2 months. In other good news, my FICO is now 743 after an AU account turned 9 years old.
You can only get an updated report every 24 hours. You can review the last reports as often as you want.
Ok, I just pulled my report just now and will do so daily. I had been doing it weekly, but this sounds like a possible strategy to make good things happen, lol. LKH, just to confirm the emerging pattern, do you also view your Eq report daily? Doc
Assuming that you can pull a new report only every 24 hours, and you can view your report as many times as you wish - the question is is that 'view' counted a soft hit as well? If yes, I should be able to add 100 entries in one day! ( I am assuming that is not correct - wanted to double check)
It only generates the soft inquiries when you "pull" your report, as opposed to viewing it. So I think the limit is 2 per day doing this (one for score, one for report). I was trying to think of ways to generate more soft inquiries.. Only other thing I can think of is disputing. When I make disputes with CSC it usually generates 2-3 inquiries over the course of 30 days. Applying for Insurance with Amica Mutual gave me a soft inquiry too.
