Has anyone had any luck in getting EQF to remove inquiries? What method did you use?

Experian and Trans Union delete inquries when you use their online investigations, but I've tried mail, fax and phone for EQF and they refuse to investigate.

    Suggestions???

    BevK,
I had several inquiries removed but only by having the creditor send Equifax a letter demanding removal. The inquiries were truly not authorized and should not have been on my report. Equifax would not remove them even with the letter from the Credit Manager of that company and indeed it took a three way call initiated by the VP of Credit to finally get them recoded as Inq. Now, inquires coded as "Inq" are supposed to be soft but I'm still not sure how it is, or if it is, affecting my score. Equifax is very tough on removal of Inquiries and will send you a letter stating that once a file is pulled by a creditor it is "a fact" that it was pulled and the status cannot and will not be changed.

Bkev - I would like to challenge the inquiries on my Equifax report using the same method you describe, however, I don't see an "additional comments" section to place the disputes. Can you please give detailed instructions on how to do this? When I try to do a dispute, the screen only brings up the items on my report (non-inquiry items), and there is no place to put "additional comments". Can you help?
Thanks very much. And congratulations on your success with this method. I am anxious to try it myself.

Consider this my fault for saving space and not quoting...... Equifax does not allow additional comments, only TU. I've had zero luck getting Equifax inquiries off. I just used planetfeedback to send a complain and threatened a suit.... I'll keep the board updated.

Do you have an Equifax report with their file number? Is it defaulting to a local office?

If you told us the response you're getting it would help.

If you have a file number on your report, you c an do the online dispute.. If it lists a local bureau at the end of your report, you can't.. You have to go through them, which means conventional warfare.. (Mail, Phone)

    Hi,
I have been trying to check on line on my investion of Equifax, Experian & TU.

Will they let you do this if you made the requests via mail or phone? I have theconfirmation numbers.

If so how. Equifax says (1) being investigaged or (2) on my husbands account; You can only dispute via mail.

Experian says I am out of time.

    I can't even figuare TU's out.

    Thanks for the help.

    Becky

Experian is the only one that will show you live info of what is still under investigation. All will give you a telephone update if you call. Good luck!
