I sent a dispute to Equifax, don't know the status yet. Then, I called and requested my credit report. After that, I sent a form requesting old addresses be removed. I've received my credit report, no info on the dispute (still within 30 days), but strangely enough, they also sent me a "we don't know who you are letter". Send dl, ss card, pay stub, etc......... What is this? They knew who I was to send a credit report. To top it off, I received the "we don't know who you are letter" the same day as my actual credit report? Should I send the requested information, or think someone wasn't doing their job and that my requests are really being processed? OR, do they want this information because I'm seeking updates to my file Please advise
I got the same letter from them but I got it at least 3 different times in the mail in the course of a week. I had only sent them 1 dispute. Doesn't make sense??
