I am new to the board, but did start sending out first letters in February, (we are house hunting and just got our credit report with so many errors it was beyond funny). I get a letter from Equifax saying they don't maintain these files. They sent our info to CSC CREDIT Services. I must have missed a beat somewhere as my credit report showed EQUIFAX as the reporting agency. So basically I deal with these people and hope it's reflected on my credit report that has Equifax name?? WNL BUTTERFLY
If I'm wrong, and I could be wrong, but I do believe that CBC Credit Services is the equivalent of Equifax. I live in Cleveland currently and when I requested my Equifax report was sent a report from Equifax. However, I lived in Toledo, Ohio for two years and back then when I requested my Equifax report, I was sent a report from CBC Credit Services...so I would think, they are one in the same. Anyone else?
I'll go ahead and reply here too: CSC is an affiliate of Equifax, just like CBC. Certain areas of the country use affiliates. It is not an additional CRA, and any changes made by CSC will be reflected on your "Equifax" report simultaneously.
