Well, I have just about had it. I have disputed the same INACCURATE information with EQ 3 times now and they have not yet fixed the problems. I have a 100 point difference between EQ and the other 2, and the only thing different is "payment status". I have cleaned up and paid all of my negative items within the last year, but EQ is reporting 5 of the 7 as "Over 120 Days past due", but they are all $0 balance! Then to top it off, I am marked late on an account in 8/2004 and 9/2004 when the account has been payed pff since 10/2000! I am at my wits end here, and I am looking for any advice on what kind of action I can take here. They have basically refused to change this inaccuate information and it is killing my score. Any help? Please?? Pretty Please???

Have you disputed with the DF (the OC or CA)?

No not yet, I didnt think I would have to because all it is is a payment status. I am going to request the contact validation from Equifax and use those names and numbers to 1. find out if Equifax even contacted them 2. try to dispute with them and throw the "you're reporting inaccurate info" threats at them. In my gut feeling I am betting that the OC's were probably never contacted. Do I have any recourse against Eqifax for not doing what they are supposed to if I am right??

Have you checked with the OC to see if Eq contacted them? Since it is paid, the OC has no interest in maintaining derogatory and inaccurate information on your credit report. If you notify them of what they are apparently reporting, and they say they are not, then get them to send you in writing what they claim to be reporting, along with whether they were ever contacted by EQ. Include a copy of this in your next dispute with EQ, sent to FTC, who will forward it. Start a paper trail with the regulatory agency documenting that EQ is not actually investigating. I'm sure they will like that a lot.
