I sent equifax a dispute on 1/5/04 certified mail return receipt. It is now 1/17/04 and I still haven't received the green card yet. Has this happened to anyone else?? Is EQ refusing to accept CRR letters now?? So they're getting away w/o investigating for all this time b/c they'll claim they never received anything. Also, I paid $5 for CRR for nothing? This is horrible, how can they do this?

Because the CRA possibly will just have to not accept any mail that is sent CMRR and we'll have no recourse or proof it was ever even received by them. Therefore, they don't even have to investigate b/c they can claim they never even received a dispute........like in my case. I do have the Cerified Mail Receipt. I'm just wondering why I even paid for that. What does having that do?? Proof that I sent it? So what if I don't have proof that they ever RECEIVED it in the mail. They'll claim that although I have proof it was sent, it was possibly lost in the mail and they never received it. I think getting it Certified is a waste of money and one should only buy the delivery Return Receipt b/c that's the only thing that's valid and can actually used to help us.
Re: Re: Equifax Not Returning CRR !! I've had several issues with the USPS over the last month of sending out over 50 pieces of CRRR mail. I had one OC call me and discuss the letter I sent, but I never got the green card back, so I know they got the mail. This also never showes up electronically in the USPS system when I do a search. but in this case, I know the recipient got it. I've had 2 others go out, never come back, and not sure if they got received as there are no records, and I have not heard from the recipient. And about 3 months ago, I was surprised to find a CRRR in the mailbox from a creditor that the mailman just didn't see or notice. So, I just treated it like a regular letter. (not returning the green card). The USPS isn't perfect. Generally they are good, but you will see these mistakes pop up time and time again. You can find a form online to get a refund if your CRRR never gets where it was supposed to go. Have you tried to track the certified number online yet? Its easy. I have a claim for 3 right now to take to my post office for a refund. After something like 14 days, if there is no record of it in their system, they issue you a refund.
