Hey all, Does anyone have a number of someone high up with Equifax that has the authority to delete or update an account on the spot? I have a paid auto loan that is reporting as currently 30 days late (with a $0 balance). Everytime I dispute it, it comes back worse then before. Finally I've gotten all the incorrect lates off, I just need it to be updated as pays on time. If anyone knows a number I can call I'd appreciate it. I called the regular number and they just put it under investigation again. I said even though it's obviously incorrect and she said yeah they still have to go through the 30 days. I assumed it would be correct when it came out, but all they did was add about 12 late pays. I'm starting to think about taking them to court, I was just denied a loan after they pulled equifax so there are my damages right there. Please help!!! thanks scott
Sorry no magic numbers here. I would send a procedural request to Equifax demanding they reveal who they spoke to to verify this debt, how they were contacted (mail/phone/UDF/automatic tape) and get a time and date. At the same time I would validate the listing with the creditor. If it is the OC, make sure you use the FCRA validation demand, not the FDCPA demand, for your validation request. That way you can determine WHO to sue...because right now you can not tell if it is Equifax updating the account erroneously, or the creditor responding to the Equifax dispute request erroneously. Get the information you need then sue the appropriate party if necessary. -Peace, Dave
