Equifax on-line dispute problem

When I got to the Equifax site to dispute:

I get to the "personal Solutions" screen. Then "Request investigation". Then up comes...

    ID#
    Last name
    First Name
    SS#

Before I can input any of this to bring up my report, the screen goes blank.

Does anyone have any idea why this happens? Do I need to buy a report to dispute? I have a 2 week old report I would like to use but the screen goes blank before I can even input the ID#.

    Thanks - Jim

The first thing I would try is a different web browser. AOL is notorious for being screwy with certain web sites and Netscape and IE have their tantrums as well.

Try going to the site using a different browser and see what happens.

    Good luck.

    Hi Shirley,

You have a good point. Both of the computers I have tried this on use Microsoft Explorer for the web browser.

Have you ever seen the problem I described yourself?

    Thanks - Jim

Aer you using 'webwasher' or and cookie 'protection'? You need to turn this off as it interferes with most https sites.

    Hope this helps!

You might want to look at your video refresh rate or even the video driver itself. What version of Windows are you running?

THIS HAPPENED TO ME ABOUT A YEAR AGO w/ Equifax. Same BS. I think the problem is with their website sometimes and NOT your PC.

Thanks guys for all the help.

I just got into the EQ website and no problems. I think Roni was right here. The EQ website is not always available for disputes.

Sorry to hear that GEORGE. When you move back to Whittier, you can dispute. LOL

BTW - I called Nextcard cutomer service yesterday and asked again if they have a lower apr. or higher limit to offer me. I was told no - however, I was told I could apply over the telephone for a limit increase at the cost of a hard inquiry. I said - No thank you.

WAIT THEM OUT...the $0 balance does help your F.I.C.O. (balance to credit limit).
