I'm new to the board and have done more spectating than interacting. This site is "hands down" one of the most resourceful ones yet!!!

I've recently (over the past 2 months) wrote endless letters to all three bureaus, pbf (amazing results), and the original creditors. I've managed to raise my scores from the mid 500's to the low 700's with the exception of Experian, which is still in the mid 600's.

I completed all investigations with Equifax over two weeks ago and my score was fairly stable until last night. I checked my score last night and it appears Equifax completely removed four "good" tradelines" that were never placed under any investigation. I didn't initiate the investigations on these accounts, because they were already in good standing. These accounts went as far back as 1988 and were in the 5-20K range that were paid as agreed. This is the second time they'd done this to me and all they can say is "sorry" we can't put them back unless the original creditor contacts us. Well damn, they're the ones that deleted it...

I plan to contact them on Monday morning and request that they send me something in writing regarding the deletion of theses accounts. If anyone has additional suggestions, please share...i'd really appreciate it.

And BTW "Docs" trick actually worked for me last night. I disputed 9 inquiries and I'm now down to 6, 12 hrs. later....

This board has SERIOUSLY been a blessing....

Apparently this is how the credit racket works. The law says negative info can stay on the report for 7 years and the good stuff 10 years. Were these open or closed accounts? The open ones should stay on but closed ones then can delete. I have even heard of people with excellent credit having no credit one day because they did not have any recent accounts established. It really depends on the rest of your report whether or not it will hurt you in anyway. Credit cards accounts that are not closed have the best chance of staying on as long as you use them. Installments like auto loan will probably disappear 10 years after that last payment. If you really need to do this for the health of your credit, call the creditors up that were Credit card accounts and reage your account but they will probably want you to actually use the card. But I believe after you use it even once or twice it "Might" stay on your report with the previous history back from 1988 for another 10 years. This is something you will have to fight our with the creditors not the CRA in my opinion. Maybe others acn chime in.

Thanks for the info. You're probably right....there were 3 installment accounts and one revolving.
All three installment accounts were closed in 94 and the revolving was closed in 93. My score really only dropped 5 pts., it's interesting that Equifax removed these accounts right after I've done so much work to clear my reports...

    thanks again...
