I just went to check the status of my current investigation set to be completed 12/10/01. I went further to request another investigation of one item and found that only two items remain on my report. But here's the thing...when I applied for Chevron yesterday, the rep asked me about a former address and I advised her that i didn't have one. Well she said what about in Atlanta. The address that she was referring to only appearred on EQ? So my question is are the items that I disputed really gone or just suppressed from my view? I do not get it! Can somebody, anybody, everybody help me figure this mystery out?

I am not sure which one (TU Ex or Eq) But I remember reading that during a dispute process one of the online systems will not show you the accounts that are currently in dispute...it does not mean that they ARE, or ARE NOT deleted...you will find that out when they send you the results from the investigation.

If I remember correctly it was Equifax online that dosen't show items in dispute. That is what sparked the debate of whether the creditors see the disputes while in progress, and why some recommend putting items in dispute before you apply for credit. (again I think it was Equifax but I am not sure).

I have noticed with Equifax only that when I dispute something it is not factored into my score (meaning my score goes up or possibly down) the items are still on my report noted "consumer disputes"

Thats why people say to put the items in dispute before applying (hoping for an increase in fico)
