I am sending off for my Equifax credit report by mail today and was wondering if someone could answer a few questions and perhaps give some advise. Of prime concern to me is what information should I send and what information should I not send? I see on Equifax's web site that they ask for the following. Full name SSN # Current and previous addresses within the last 5 years Date of Birth Signature Telephone number (home) Name, address, DOB I really have no problem with but not real comfortable giving SSN and phone numbers. Are they really needed? Also, should I send certified mail, and use cashiers check instead of my personal checking account? Any other advice? Thanks to anyone that can help.
You never know who is lurking out there. I am concerned though that info I send then could be used against me, or to aid creditors. Still, I need a credit report to aid in repairing my credit.
