I am sending off for my Equifax credit report by mail today and was wondering if someone could answer a few questions and perhaps give some advise. Of prime concern to me is what information should I send and what information should I not send? I see on Equifax's web site that they ask for the following.
    Full name
    SSN #
Current and previous addresses within the last 5 years
    Date of Birth
    Signature
    Telephone number (home)
Name, address, DOB I really have no problem with but not real comfortable giving SSN and phone numbers. Are they really needed? Also, should I send certified mail, and use cashiers check instead of my personal checking account? Any other advice? Thanks to anyone that can help.

If you have people after you for money, be very careful!

You never know who is lurking out there. I am concerned though that info I send then could be used against me, or to aid creditors. Still, I need a credit report to aid in repairing my credit.
