Ok, just got my latest list of disputes back from Equifax. The items that they could verify they did and made the adjustments to my report. All other disputed items are marked as customer disputes reinvestigation in process? So if they can not get an item confirmed in 30 days they just start another investigation?

I have the same problem and have not received any answers yet posted a few days ago.
1 came back verified and the others being investigated.

    Maybe it's someting new.
I thought it needed to be either verified or deleted once the time limit was up.

CRA has 30 days to verify, if they can't, then they delete, however if the consumer provides further information pertaining to the dispute(investigation), under FCRA they have an additional 15 days. If you haven't provided any further information, and it's been over 30 days, ask them to delete.

    Thanks I will!

It took 10 days from the date of their letter to reach me.

    They are dragging it out.
Eq is a thorn in my side!

They have done nothing for me.

just be sure it's been over 30 days from the date stamped on the green card. If you disputed online, hopefully you saved or printed out the page showing which date you inititated the dispute.

Would it be best to call and ask for the delete or should this be done in writing? I would rather do this through the mail (a papertrail). I had an account in dispute in November and have a report proving that EQ had it under investigation during that time. I just received a report dated 1/3/02 and the account is still showing under investigation. I did not provide any new information.

Ask for it through mail, send CRRR. Include copies of previous report showing date item(s) were in dispute. Tell them to delete immediately. They don't need an addition 30 days from the date of receipt of your proof. They'll get the picture.

That is exactly what I am doing. I am also forwarding a copy to my attorney and noted this on the letter.

I have a couple of other inaccurate issues that need investigation apart from this issue, however I do not want to send the dispute in until I see what happens with this. I also want to add this account that should be deleted and the upcoming dispute together if and when I file a suit. I want to go after them for the whole package instead of ala carte.

Ok, here is what happened today. I sent my original letter crrr, Equifax recieved it 12/14. The wife sent hers regualar mail a day earlier. Wife called EQ today to ask for the items still being investigated to be deleted. She was informed that they received her letter on 12/21??? and that they were allowed 5 days before the clock started ticking??? They told her that they had until the 25th or 26th before the 30 days was up.

I will be honest I have not read every word in the fcra but I do not remember seeing anything that says they are allowed five days to start looking at a dispute.

An Equifax rep told me the following:

We have 10 days from the date of receipt of the dispute to input it. Then, from that date, we have 30 days.

That's 40 for those (not working for Equifax) who can count.

I asked specifically where the FCRA said 30 days for all Cras... but 40 for Equifax.

She basically told me to... well, you can guess. I wish I'd recorded the call.

So yes, as standard procedure, they take 40 days. and you can guess what I think about it.

I sent them a letter on December 13th... I called today to check on results and was told they did not receive my letter until 12/26...., so yeah, apparently they are taking their sweet time - them AND the post office.

Marie, I agree it is ridiculous that they act like this. 30 days is 30 days. I will always send crrr from this point forward. Looks like they let non crrr items sit around for 6 days before they even open them.

I disputed with experian at the same time. All results are in and my report is properly updated, non of this smoke and mirrors bs.

I'd like to see them try to say that to a judge in Federal Court (I think that is where you can file on an FCRA violation) when they get sued.

I have read in many books as well as on this board that when you send disputes CRR the thirty days start when the CRA signs the green card.
