Equifax report

For the last few years, Equifax has had a bad habit of merging my report with that of other people who are totally unrelated. They have differnet names, social security numbers, addresses, phone numbers, etc. Their explanation is that I obviously use different SS#'s, addresses and phone numbers in other states, and so on. Each time that I find out, I battle with them to get it corrected. The fight gets old after a while.

The bottom line is this. I cannot get my report from them online or over the phone because the info I give them never matches with what they have on file. I send them a letter with drivers license, utility bills, etc., and they write asking for more info. Then, when I send that in, they want more. The process takes 4 - 6 weeks just to get a copy of my report.

Is there any place I can get my Equifax report easily without having to deal with Equifax? Or, will I run into the same verification problems with outside companies?

I just looked at the MyFico web site. It appears that it is run by Equifax. Will I have the same problems ordering it through that site as I do trying to order it through Equifax?

Is there any long term solution to get them to stop messing up my report or is this something I will have to monitor forever?

Right now I am merged with a female in my state and a young male student in a far away state. The male has the same name (a common name) but no other things that match. The female has the same last name and lives in the same state, but her first and middle names are totally different.

Wow - According to My fico score (638 at the time, 630 now due to mortgage inquiries), I should be paying 8.464% on my house (Just got approved for 6.75%) and 12.287% on my car (Approved for 8.25% through Credit Union in Jan).

Just curious who runs MyFico anyways - the lenders???
