Equifax response question.

Today I received a response from Equifax with regards to asking them to verify information they are reporting.

In their response letter they state that they need more information from me, such as a drivers license, pay stub , or w2 for identity; drivers license, rental lease, pay stub, utility bill, or notarized statement, for verifying my current address.

Do I need to send them anything else?

None of the other CRA ask for this. Also, if I was to respond would that not give them more time than the 30 days that are now counting down. They sent the letter regular mail, so how would they even know if I received their letter? I don't want to stop the 30 days that have already started.

    What should I do here?

    Thanks!

Equifax has settled upon this "stall" tactic lately.

BY LAW, YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND THEM ANY OF THE DOCUMENTS THEY ASK FOR. However, they will have a strong arguement that they are "afraid of identity theft, and were mearly assuring it is you."

Problem though, I send ALL my correspondace with them return receipt, AND NOTORY sealed as to my identity :)

BUT, they will not change this "stall tactic" until enough people sue for failing to conduct an investigation.

i would only send a copy of my current DL with a nice little note stating they still only have 30 days from the original date of dispute.
